Holiday, the afterstory

Ok, my holiday turned out not to be as bad as it could have been. There were a few nice people but I ended up reading Harry Potter most of the time. In lik 8 days I reas HP3,4,5,6 and 7 so I was very proud of myself. Then I only had not very nice books to read so that kinda sucked. But well it went allright. I bought myself (eventually it turned out that my parents bought me) a new wintercoat. It is really soft and black with yellowish. I like it. Now I only need gloves.

The whole time on holiday and some weeks before I went on holiday I wanted to snowboard. Last year I got my own snowboard from my parents and I totally love snowboarding. I’m like really not good at it and I think I’ve totally got the wrong technique, but it is sooo much fun. But I was on holiday, in France, and it was really hot, I was doing a permanent game called: Where is the shade, and I wanted to go snowboarding. Which ofcourse doesn’t really work a. in France, b. in the summer, c. when you are on a camping and d. when your parents just want to sit in the sun/water/drink beer. And I still want to go snowboarding. I’m really looking forward to the cristmasholidays because then we are going to the Czech Republic to go skiing (for my parents) and snowboarding (for me and my brothers).

Last year we were like 50 metres from a skilift, so you got up and walked to the piste. It was so handy, there was a black and some red and blue slopes. I before I went on last years holiday had 6 hours of snowboard experience. The first time was ages ago and then I after 2 hours of lesson, got a hairfracture in my wrist which hurted like hell and I didn’t dare to snowboard for well 2 or 3 years or something. But last year after the christmas holiday when I went to my aunt and uncle in England. We went to Snowworld in Landgraaf. That is an indoor skipistethingy. So I looked at myself and thought.. maybe I’ll go snowboarding.. And I did, my brother reminded me of how to do the turns and it actually went very very good. So my parents saw a snowboard for sale and bought it for me.

So we went on wintersport in the next holiday, spring I think. On the piste was a bit where you had to stand on you toes on the snowboard for a very long time (if you have your right foot at the front, as I do). The first 2 days or so I had to stop in the middle everytime because I was so exhausted. In the end I made it and even gained speed and stuff like that, It was so much fun. And I went of a black piste.. and only fell once, at the very end. I was so proud of myself.

I want to try that again next year, I think that we are at the same spot. I’m soo looking forward to it. I love snowboarding, it’s so much fun. And I can just go where I want to go and when I want to go and don’t have to worry about anybody else. I totally love that.

This summerholiday I met a girl who also liked snowboarding too, so that was really fun to talk about. She had a lot of the same experiences as myself in primary school so it was really nice to talk about that as mine time there wasn’t the best of the world. But that is a story for another time,

Now I had to have been in bed for at least uuh 2 hours or so. So I’ll do that now.

New life

Rutger told me I had to put something less emo on my bloggythingy so I’ll, for a change, will listen to him.

Ok, I’ve finished 5 weeks in my new town. 5 weeks ago, Thursday, I moved into my new home. A 12 square metre living room, and my own bathroom and kitchen, next to that. The next Monday we had the introduction week. We got 3 parents for 8 kiddo’s. All the names looked really alike so I of course had a really hard time remembering them. As my memory resembles a stainer. Only a very limited amount of information stays behind. That usually is the unnecessary stuff, of course not very handy. But I’m getting used to it now, people around me seem to get now that I’ve got to ask names at least 4 times before I remember them.

Well I knew already that I was one of the most atypical students: I don’t smoke, drink, do drugs, drink coffee, go out and party. So that is a bit strange, but I’m sort of happy with who I am, so I just live with it.

But we were in the introduction week. On Monday we had to stand in line for a million things, forever, to sign up for things and arrange things like; I’m now moved, they now know that I live here, get assigned to the housing comity etc. We also did a opening and later that evening we ate together with my family. Pasta and sauce, it was remarkably nice.

Then Tuesday get up early to get introductions to departments  and take and English proficiency test. Then we went to the library, had to wait for ever again to get the card. I was really annoyed but it wasn’t that deadly eventually. After that we had a scavengers hunt, that was way to long. 3,5 hours of walking sure as hell isn’t my favourite activity in the world. After 2 hours I had already had enough of it. But we had to go on for another 1,5 hours, deadly that was. So that evening we had a bbq on the market square, I don’t like bbq, don’t know why though. They announced that our group was the runner up in the scavenger hunt, so we were happy. That night there was a party in some club, but I don’t go there as I don’t really like party’s.

Next day, Wednesday, we had two lectures about departments and a tutor meeting, the last one wasn’t that interesting. That evening we had a pancake dinner, at the grass in front of our building. And I also don’t like pancakes, ok I’m so weird, but that doesn’t matter. That evening I had so much fun talking to two people who live in my house, really funny. I actually that night went to a party, with the theme being sea. I left in an hour but I went there, very good of me.

Thursday, Sportsday (Morons!). I actually sported.. sort of. I did some strange hockey with sticks with soft stuff on the bottom and I beach balled, with wooden bats and a green ball. And I ran.. a bit around the field. So I was very proud of myself for moving at all. That afternoon the new building got opened and I abseiled down it, that was quite fun. That evening there was a pub-crawl, I liked the first pub because the woman there explained about things, which was fun. The rest wasn’t really my thing.

And Friday we got our books from the local bookstore, had a few problems but it went ok in the end.  That evening there was a reeaally big screen (10 by 15 metres) with a movie: The Wedding Daze. It was a premiere so that was really fun. Funny movie to, a really strange story but it was funny. So the next morning I went home, by train, which took like 2,5 hours. Which is really long. So next Monday I started school. It wasn’t even half as bad as I thought it would be. I actually like my subjects, Great Literary Works, General Biology, English 260 and Methods & Statistics I, except for that last one M&SI is a disaster I really don’t like it. But I’ll survive I hope, so we’ll see.

I’m now actually getting happy. It’s quite fun to live on your own. You can eat whenever and whatever you want. It’s really handy that you can do things when you want them. Of course it sometimes is quite alone. But I’m adjusting, so I’ll just go on and see how it works out.

But I’m happy, and this wasn’t as emo as the other one’s, was it Rutger.. So hope you’re happy now too. Good luck on your math! You can do it too, always look at the bright side of life and stuff.

Alouette, have fun in the sixth year, good luck with everything, you can do it too! I miss you though, you really need to stay here sometime! You NEED to! It’s very cloudy today, but I can see the lighthouse, it’s pretty.

Good luck everybody, have fun and don’t forget!
